Paper submission & peer review deadline

1. Paper submission starts: Monday, July 17, 2013 — Update July 17, 2023: an email was sent to the submitter of the abstract with submission information.
2. Paper submission deadline: Friday, July 21, 2023
3. Peer review completion deadline: Friday, October 27, 2023

Where to submit your paper

Papers, prepared according to the author guidelines, must be submitted to the CEC/ICMC’23 IOP peer review site (hosted by Morressier). An email will be sent on July 17, 2023, to the abstract submitter with submission information who will become the contact author for the peer review process.  If you wish to change the contact author prior to the start of the paper submission process, please submit your request by email to Centennial Conferences.

Authors will be required, during the submission process, to select the session in which they are scheduled to present and to enter the presentation ID as shown in front of their presentation tile. The presentation ID is case sensitive and can only be used once. Be sure to enter the correct presentation ID. Once the paper is submitted, changes can no longer be made.

Presentation is a requirement for publication

Anyone who will be presenting a plenary, invited and/or contributed oral, or poster presentation is strongly encouraged to submit their paper for peer review. However, authors are not required to submit a paper. A submitted paper will only be considered for peer review if the work was presented at its scheduled day & time during CEC/ICMC 2023.

Page limits

Oral and poster papers may be up to eight (8) pages including figures and references for submitted papers, up to ten (10) for invited, and up to twenty (20) for plenary papers, without incurring charges for additional pages.

The additional page charge is US $150. Fees for additional manuscript pages are due with acceptance of the paper. You will be contacted by the editorial staff with instructions on how to submit payment.

If reviewers/editors request that additional content be added to provide a better understanding of what is presented and the page limit is exceeded, a fee applies. It is not the editors responsibility to remind authors of page limits. If authors have a concern of the page limit, the authors either need to discuss with the editors on how/what content can be removed to stay within the limits.

Preparing your paper

IOP Conference Series uses author-supplied PDFs for all online and print publication. Authors are asked to prepare their papers using the guidelines below. Papers must be submitted as PDF files at all stages of the peer review.

It is important to ensure that when you submit your paper, it is in its final form ready for publication, and has been thoroughly proofread. IOP does not copyedit papers and will not send out author proofs prior to publication. Please note: post-publication changes are not usually permitted, unless there are exceptional circumstances, so please ensure your paper has been checked for errors.

Summary of paper preparation guidelines

Authors are asked to review all information and available files carefully.

  • The PDF file of your paper. When preparing your paper, ensure that you follow the author guidelines, but as a minimum:
    • Use European A4 sized paper.
    • Margins are 4cm (top), 2.5cm (left and right) and 2.7cm (bottom).
    • Do not add page numbers, or headers or footers to your article.
    • The paper includes the author name(s) and affiliation(s) and full addresses including country as well as the email address for the contact author.
    • Ensure that your paper includes an abstract.
      • Abstract format: 10 point, Times or Times New Roman; indented 25 mm from the left margin, should not exceed 200 words in a single paragraph; leave 10 mm space after the abstract before you begin the main text of your article, starting on the same page as the abstract.
    • Text is single spaced, not double spaced, main text is 11 point, Times or Times New Roman.
    • Figures are placed within the text, not collected at the end of the document. All figures should be numbered in numerical order. Please ensure that figure/table numbers are not duplicated or missed.
      • All color figures will appear in black-and-white for printed copies, however, will be in color in the online publication. Check your figures carefully to avoid loss of information. Do not mention color in the figure caption.
      • Figure caption text is 11 point, Times or Times New Roman (same as main text).
    • Section headings are numbered. Ensure that they are numbered numerically, and no numbers are duplicated or missing.
    • Displayed equations should follow a naming convention in numerical order, i.e. (1), (2), (3) etc or by section, i.e. (1.1), (1.2) etc. Ensure every displayed equation has its own number and none are duplicated or missing.
    • Reference lists are checked for accuracy. References can only be linked via Crossref if they are correct and complete.
      • References are listed before the Acknowledgment section and it is a numbered section.
      • Ensure that all references are cited in the text and that all citations have a corresponding reference.
    • The Acknowledgments section (if applicable) is listed last in your paper (after the References) and is not a numbered section.
    • The PDF is free of formatting errors (e.g. corrupt equations, missing or low-resolution figures), since conversion from Word to PDF can introduce formatting errors.
    • Conduct a thorough proofread to check the standard of English and ensure wording is clear and concise.
    • The PDF file is editable and not password protected.
    • Adhere to the page limits.
  • Provide any multimedia files you wish to publish online.
    • IOP Conference Series encourages authors to submit multimedia files to enhance the online versions of published research articles.
