All plenary and oral sessions will take place at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center.
In addition to submitting your presentation to the Speaker Ready Room at the Conference, all oral presenters are requested to electronically publish their presentation prior to or during the Conference. Presentation upload instructions are available here.
Electronic publication of your presentation materials has no effect on the conference proceeding publication of your paper.
Session and Presentation Information
Arrive a few minutes before the session and introduce yourself to the session moderators before the start of the session. There will be no rearrangement of presentations within an oral session to accommodate absences or cancellations, so the time you have been assigned within the oral session is fixed. If the talk is not presented during its scheduled time, the paper written from this presentation will not be published in the IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Advances in Cryogenic Engineering.
- Each Contributed Oral is permitted 15 minutes. You should arrange your talk so that your presentation lasts 12-13 minutes, with 2-3 minutes available for questions.
- Each Invited Oral is permitted 30 minutes. You should plan for 25 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions.
- Plenary talks are 45 minutes and should include 5 minutes for questions.
- Please make note of the following guideline: There should be 1.0-1.5 slides per minute for your presentation. This means that the expected number of slides for contributed oral presentations should be 8-12, for invited presentations should be 16-25, and for plenary talks should be 27-45, all depending on the density of information per slide.
CEC/ICMC 2017 will offer computerized projection facilities for oral presentations. Please read the following carefully to acquaint yourself with the specific procedures.
- All oral presenters are REQUIRED to submit an electronic version of their presentation at least one (1) day prior to their presentation onsite to the Speaker Ready Room, located in Room K/L. Acceptable media include CD and USB flash drive. Files are reviewed, scanned for viruses and loaded onto the appropriate computers in the session rooms. Changes to presentation files will not be allowed once submitted. Presenter’s personal computers cannot be used in the session rooms for presentation purposes.
- Files transferred to the session computers by CEC/ICMC staff cannot be copied by anyone and will be deleted after the session. Anyone wishing to receive a copy of the slides should contact the presenter, not CEC/ICMC staff.
- Using removable media (USB drives and CD) is prohibited on the session computers that are used for presentation in oral session rooms. Saving data to and from them is not possible.
- Presentations must be submitted in Microsoft Power Point 2016 or PDF format. For compatibility reasons, it is strongly recommended that presenters use common True Type fonts in their Power Point presentations.
- All session rooms will be setup with a wide screen (16:9 aspect ratio, 1920 x 1080 resolution).
- You may want to bring an additional electronic copy for added security against unanticipated software/ hardware anomalies.
- All session rooms are equipped with a LCD projector, computer, microphones, laser pointer, timer and screen. The laptops in the oral session rooms are not equipped to accommodate audio sound.
- Macintosh computers will NOT be available in any of the session rooms. Authors using a Macintosh must ensure their presentations operate correctly using Microsoft Office 2016 or Adobe Acrobat in the Windows environment.
Authors are strongly encouraged to:
- consider font embedding to ensure that characters display properly
- bring a duplicate copy of their presentation in electronic format
- ensure that all font sizes are large enough to be read from the back of the room
- ensure that line widths are thick enough to be seen from the back of the room
- ensure that color choices provide high contrast

If you need to make changes or withdraw your abstract from the program BEFORE the Conference, please contact Centennial Conferences via email. Please be sure to include your abstract or presentation/program ID number on any correspondence.
If you need to make changes or withdraw your presentation from the program ONSITE at the Conference, please advise the staff in the Publication Office (Room K/L).
